I see

a sole red leaf

in a swarm of greens.

I see it float

to the ground,

slower than rest

savoring the wind.

I see it settle

on the lone puddle

In the middle of a busy street.

Ripples rise

and the puddle is alive.

Two tiny sparrows notice.

Use the leaf as a boat,

Quench their thirst,

They flit away and I realise-

I’m happy
